New Moon, Pluto in Capricorn

Well, we made it! 2008 is here. With every new year that comes, I find it harder to believe that we're this far into "the future"!

I remember growing up in the 80's and thinking, wow the 2000's seem like they are going to be an amzing era. It seemed so in advance of where we were in the 80's. Just having the "2" in front seemed like it was special, somehow.

I hear you ask, hey AA, what's this got to do with the Cappy New Moon? Well, its time. I mean its about time. No....!

The Capricorn New Moon is a very special one this year. Saturn rules Capricorn, and as we know Saturn is the Lord of Time - time pressures, timely actions, right actions.

There are 4 planets transiting this earth sign during January: The Sun, Mercury, Jupiter - and please make welcome, our very special guest, all the way from the outer solar system - Pluto!
That's right folks, the lord of the Underworld himself, Pluto, is entering Capriocrn for the first time since his discover by western science. So all things Capricornian are in for a major shake up. So that's things like goverments; structures of authority.

On a personal level, things to do with boundaries - our layers of protection between ourselves and others - are in special focus.

Speaking personally for a moment, I began 2008 with exactly such issues - crossing boundaries that are not meant to be crossed. And yet with Pluto at work, the end result can be surprising and empowering. There are hard lessons to be learned, there's no doubt about that. Yet sometimes if we scratch the surface of life, the unexpected can provide answers.

Now be aware - Saturn, to the ancients, signified Time itself. Saturn was still the outermost planet known to man. He stood at the threshhold of the Known and the Unknown, also signifying Death. In modern times Pluto has inherited much of this role. Pluto know dignifies Death, but as the roler of regenerative Scorpio, its a death that is not a final end, but a difficult phase as a prelude to a more powerful new beginning.

A beginning where, having learned our hard lessons, we are set upon a new course of self-trust, self-discovery and a deeper self-knowledge.

Its as if Pluto gives us a hard kick in our Capricornian protection shell and says - "Here! Wake up in there, sleepy, I've got a message for you!!" And then if we're smart we listen.

I realise this is rambling on quite a but now, sorry for that. We're dealing with two heavy, intense energies here. Both Saturn and Pluto are quite complex archetypes, and their combined message is long-term. Hence the long blog!

Now, in the Saturnian tradition, some dates for y'all. (Australian times)

Capricorn New Moon - 8 Jan, 10.37pm (17.5 CAP)
Pluto enters Capricorn - 27 Jan (0 CAP)

If any of you have feedback on what you may be experiencing with Pluto / Capricorn, feel free to leave a comment or drop us a line via messaging.

Blessed be - and a greater sense of authentic, compassionate power - to us all!
Love and Light
AA
